We choose to name the Senior Patrol the "Veterans" in order to honor and remember the veteran of our country. We appreciate the Tilghman Angle Smith American Legion Post 851 for sponsoring our Boy Scout Troop, but even more so, we appreciate the dedication and service these men and women have given to our country, and continue to give to our community. The veterans and members of the American Legion Post are a great inspiration and role models to all of the scouts in our Troop. We thank them, and hope to honor them.
The Veterans Patrol Patch
Each scout in the Veteran Patrol chooses any patch they wish to wear to honor our nations service men and women.I choose the 1st ANGLICO patch because that is the unit my grandfather served in as a young Marine. Brendan choose the 10th Mountain Div because his dad served in that unit. Other members of our patrol may wear the patches from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or some other organization to honor those great people that serve our country.
The Veterans Patrol Flag
Our Patrol Flag has a capitol V for Veterans. The "V" is made up of the men and women in military uniforms throughout our countries history, from the Revolutionary War to modern times. It also has the Troop number, 174, the name of our town, Dingmans Ferry, and the slogan "Bi Ullmhaithe" which means "Be Prepared."
The Veterans Patrol Cheer
Our Patrol Cheer is "Veterans - Lead the way!"
The Veterans Patrol
As the Veterans Patrol we want to be like the Veterans and members of the legion. We want to offer our experience to younger scouts and to set a good example to all the scouts in the Troop, we attempt to cheerfully serve the community, and do our best to live by the ideals set forth in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
As Senior Patrol Leader,I will try to do my best for our Scout Troop. I will endeavor to have effective meetings and help the scouts advance.I hope to have fun, productive, and worthwhile outings, and I believe in our scouts, our troop and our ability to do great things in our community.
