On November 13, 2009 (a.k.a., Friday the Thirteenth!!), our Troop traveled to Camp Lewis in New Jersey. It was a dark and stormy night... The scouts picked out their bunk mates, lean-tos, and assisted in setting up the kitchen. They drank some hot chocolate just before bed.
For breakfast the next morning, some had a nice meal of pancakes, bacon and eggs, while others had breakfast rolls filled with sausages, veggies and cheese. The scout leadership members held a meeting within one of the lean-tos to discuss the departure of our beloved Rob Welsh, and the person who was to take his place, Keith Vaivada. Everyone else hung out until lunch. Two of our scouts left around mid-day for soccer games, Jeremiah and Dillon. The troop's very own hobos enjoyed a delicious hobo stew prepared by Gregory Giliberti for dinner.
Sunday morning, everyone had bagels for breakfast. After the troop did a camp clean-up, Mr. Krauss treated them to a chapel service with a Thanksgiving theme. After some meditation, the troop was dispersed. When they arrived at the Legion around 12:00, the scouts helped lay out the many tarps to dry inside. According to the last scout-check/ roll call done, all survived the campout without falling victim to Jason Voorhees, but there is always the next Friday the Thirteenth to look forward to?
